The current government has placed significant importance on vocational education. Currently, under the Department of Technical Education, the country has 49 polytechnic institutes and 134 technical schools and colleges. Among them, 64 are old establishments, and in the year 2021-22, 70 new technical schools and colleges have been established. Additionally, there is an initiative to establish one technical school and college in each sub-district in the near future.

Furthermore, HSC Vocational Education has been initiated in 1,700 private institutions, and there are 302 private institutions in the field of SSC Vocational Education.

• 31 SSC Vocational and HSC Vocational courses are provided in 64 government technical schools and colleges.
• 22 SSC Vocational programs are in progress in 100 government technical schools.
• Approximately 1,100 private schools offer training in various trades under SSC Vocational.
